Our History
As a young man, David Fell learned his craft at one of America's largest refiners and suppliers of mill products. He dreamed of creating his own company that would reflect his personal view of business: to offer the highest quality products, honest refining services, and personalized attention to his customers, all for the lowest possible price.
Since 1973, David H. Fell & Company, Inc. has been doing just that. Through his consistent demand for excellence and unyielding integrity, David Fell has built a company he can be proud of, with a rock solid reputation for quality in the precious metals industry
1973/74
David H. Fell & Company, Inc. is established with only two employees. The company Incorporates, purchases its first building on Pacific Way in Commerce, CA.
1975/76
Company broadens its product range to include full line of alloys, casting gold, sheet, wire, and solders.
1978
To service its downtown customers, DHF Co. opens an office on 6th Street. The downtown office would eventually move two more times.
1984
The principals of the company make a special trip to Israel to learn about new techniques to lessen porosity in karat gold alloys.
1989
Firm moves to its current City of Commerce location, incorporating all of the operations under one roof.
1990/91
Firm wins the Best Single Exhibit Award of the Pacific Jewelry Show, publishes its first newsletter, and adds Plus alloys to the products line.
1992
Pattern Sheet is introduced to the industry at the AGTA Gem Show.
1996
Company moves the downtown office to 550 South Hill St. in Los Angeles.
1998
DHF Co.'s 25th Anniversary
1999
DHF Co. launches website. New alloyed Platinum products manufactured.
2000
Winner of Contemporary Design Group: Best Designer Supplier Award
2001
Added ICP analysis capability to our laboratory
